Today at the AAUFRC we had our first harvest of hops! Pherm Brewery asked for 1lb of fresh hops for their beer, a number which we met seven fold. We gave them 5.5lbs of the Cascade variety which is the leading industry standard variety, and we gave them 2lbs of the Comet variety. Our hops really amazed us with how much they produced in their first year, typically you would not see numbers like this until year two or three! While we were out with the hops we also fixed the post that had broken in our storm last Tuesday. We used wood glue and screws in some extra 2x4s to hold it all together.

Today Dave, Brian and I harvested our Serrano and Jalapeno peppers for Pherm Brewery for their beer. They requested 20lbs. of Jalapenos and 10lbs. of Serrano, but in total we gave them 55lbs. of peppers, overshooting our mark. (Dave, Brian, Henry, and Bear at Pherm Brewery weighing the buckets of peppers we picked)
